Based on my GATE score last year, I applied and got calls from IITB, IITK, IITM, IITG, NITIE and CCMB. Though I got admit offers from IITB, I chose to enter the Techno-Management arena, by joining the Industrial Engineering course at NITIE, Mumbai.
NITIE is one of the Centers of Excellence of MHRD, Govt. of India along with IISc, IIMs and IITs.

The PGDIE course aims to equip Engineering graduates with Managerial skills in a scientific and systematic way, so that they can work with finnese in ANY industry in the future. The basic concepts taught in Engineering are extended to encompass many theoretical and practical avenues of management.
The institute welcomes students with a high GATE percentile, with good acads and extra curriculars, good project/work experience and a streak of BOTH Technical skills (in any branch) and Managerial attitude (of any kind). The selection process considers these things, and also the cumulative scores of a Group Discussion and Personal Interview round.

Similarly, the concepts of Facility planning and Supply chain operations taught in the PGDIE curriculum may help u in deciding how to best design a Biohazard laboratory minimizing contamination, while maximizing workflow. Quality control logistics can help u in deciding optimum routes in sending vaccination vials from one place to other. Finally Financial Cost accounting may help u in deciding ur costs for manufacturing your enzymes and manpower requirements.
